9's- Divisibility Rule:
(1).Almost the same rule and dividing by 3. Add up all the digits in the number.
(2).Find out what the sum is. If the sum is divisible by 9, so is the number.
(3).For example: 43785 (4+3+7+8+5=27) 27 is divisible by 9, therefore 43785 is too!
Use the skip counting song to familiarize your child with multiplies of 9:

9,18,27 ( how I wonder what you are)
36 and 45 ( up above the sky so high)

Teach your child to think about multiplication backwards. For example,
54 / 9 = ? ......Encourage your child to think of it as: 9 x ? = 54.
Now your child can use their tools: skip counting song and/or the magic nine trick (see link below) to find the missing factor.

10's- Divisibility Rule:
If the number ends in a 0, it is divisible by 10.
That is all your need!

11's- Divisibility Rule:
If you add every second digit and then subtract all other digits and the answer is:
0, or 11
For Example:
1864 ((8+4) - (1+6) = 5; it is not divisible by 11
3729 ((7+9) - (3+2) = 11) Yes
25176 ((5+7) - (2+1+6) = 3) No
This is a great trick..... very helpful when dividing larger numbers.

12's- Divisibility Rule:
The number is divisible 12 if......
it passes the 3 and 4 tests.
Just a reminder:
3 test: add the digits..is the sum divisible by 3?
4 test: the last two digits are divisible.....4
For example:
648 (6+4+8=18 and 18÷3=6, also 48÷4=12) Yes
916 (9+1+6=16, 16÷3= 5 1/3) No
Thinking backwards is an easy way to think about division. So 12 / 6 = ? ..... Think..... 6 x ? = 12. Now you can use your knowledge of multiplication to solve this problem.
Another strategy is to use the 12 skip counting song:
To the tune of "Clementine"
12,24,36 (Oh my darling, Oh my darling)
48 and 69 (Oh my darling, Clementine)
72 and 84 (you are gone and lost forever )
96 my Clementine! (Oh my darling Clementine)
