Math Games Tool: 1000 Chart

A 1000 Chart is another valuable tool for learning about place value. It is through this chart that your child can visually see how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit numbers.

This Chart is 3 pages, so just paste them together into a long chart. You won't believe the patterns you can find on this chart!

Some quick ideas:

  • Count by 100's backwards and forwards.
  • Make two 1000 charts, post one on each side of a door, draw battle ships on your 1000 chart and play "Battleship".
  • See how far you can count by 2's, 3's, 4's, etc. See any patterns.
  • Keep track of allowance....save 1000 quarters or dollars.

For more ideas check out 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

highly recommend having a 1000 chart in your home if you have an elementary age school child. You will not believe how much you can use it when your kids ask you questions throughout the day.

  1. How much is an ipod?
  2. How much more do i need to save?
  3. Will you help me pay for an ipod?
  4. How much more will I need if you help me?
  5. How much is a new car?
  6. How much is a new house?

A 1000 chart will give your kids a visual representation of large numbers, this will go along ways as they learn advanced mathematics.
